ABOUT US
Welcome to Cottle Hill Creek
We are a family owned and run business who are striving to live a self-sustainable, environmentally friendly, and zero-waste lifestyle on our property in Kerikeri, New Zealand.
We moved here from Auckland in November 2016 and love everything that the Bay of Islands has to offer. We are in the beginnings of this journey and would like to offer you an opportunity to join us. As of now we have the Ark ready to be booked - a truly unique accommodation experience.
We look forward to meeting you!

Sustainability & Our Lifestyle
One of our main goals is to create a self-sustainable, environmentally friendly, and zero waste lifestyle here on the property for ourselves and our accommodation units.
Currently all power is sourced from solar, and water is pumped and filtered from the lake. All toilets on the property are compostable toilets, including the one on The Ark. Food waste is composted and then the compost is used to grow our fruit and vegetables.
As of now, on the property we have chickens, ducks, goats, pigs, sheep, as well as our cat, Tora, and our dog, Willow. The eggs we consume are from our own chickens who are truly free range, loved and happy chickens.
We are endeavouring to eliminate our plastic usage due to the harm it poses to the environment. Recycling is of utmost important to us and we make sure to recycle what non-compostable waste we produce throughly. This is why the toiletries, tea, and coffee we provide are in glass containers. We additionally only provide loose leaf tea, with two types of tea strainers to choose from, to minimise plastic waste from tea bags.
We hope that staying at Cottle Hill Creek with us will allow you to reflect on your choices made around the environment and your plastic usage.
