A floating haven

The Ark is a unique and beautifully decorated, floating house boat, just 5 minutes from Kerikeri village.

It sits peacefully in a corner of a small private lake on a 16 acre property. The Ark is docked alongside a wharf where a nearby willow tree provides a cool outdoor living space - and a tranquil place to BBQ, sunbathe, read, relax, or enjoy a cool drink on a hot day.

Inside is a small but perfectly formed space with a luxurious open plan and well equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge area, and bathroom.  An incredibly comfortable queen size bed is accessed via a ladder in the loft.

The Ark is a beautiful and unique accommodation experience. It's off grid, self-sustainable and provides an escape from the stresses of the city.

Row or kayak on the lake, take a peaceful walk through the native bush, bird watch, discover swimming holes, or say hello to the animals.

During open fire season, guests are welcome to collect wood and build a fire in the pit outside The Ark. Pioneer cast iron cookware is provided to enjoy a unique outdoor fire cooking experience.

There is an array of birdlife to enjoy! Sometimes you can spot wild turkeys, peacocks, quail, and pheasants around. There are also many beautiful native birds such as fantails, tui, and kererus to be seen.

TESTIMONIALS

"What an idyllic spot! The Ark is the perfect weekend escape from the big smoke. Off the grid but with all the home comforts, the most gorgeous spot & Chris & Careena are wonderful hosts."

"Absolutely lovely vibe! If you're wanting a nice off the grid getaway this is for you! They are very lovely and accommodating to your needs too. The beautiful place you stay in is on top of the water, they have some row boats to row on the lake with and a cute wee island in the middle of the lake. An absolutely amazing night away! Would highly recommend."

"We had such an amazing experience staying at Cottle Hill Creek. Everything was perfect, we rowed to the island for a picnic and cooked outside under the stars. Wish we could have stayed longer."
